Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner & R[II] Eyes RHA Advanced Eye Contour, Review

Yay for the weekend! Today it is very windy here which feels much better than yesterday which was sticky super warm and humid. I am trying to start finish the documentation at work since I have only a week and a few more days left. I will fly to my yearly beach holiday next weekend and I didn't get anything prepared for that one either. It all looks like a lot of work so I will see what I can get done.

I have been to the half yearly Beauty Press Event in the beginning of June. It was my first time there and I really like and appreciate the idea of bringing the brands and bloggers together for information exchange. There were around 50 bloggers and 13 brands. The brands had stands and representatives who introduced us to their new product lines.

Teoxane was a brand I was familiar with before the event. Some of their products were in my " super curious to try" wish list. The brand is known by their patented ingredient called RHA, Resilient Hydraulic Acid. It is originally developed for injection but now also available in their creams and serums.  I was provided two of the products from their line to try out, Perfect Skin Refiner and RHA Advanced Eye Contour. After testing them over a month, here are my thoughts.

Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner & RHA Advanced Eye Contour

I am always very excited to try eye cream and serums because of my dry, almost hopeless under eye area. The only thing which really works on me until now is La Mer's The Illuminating Eye Gel (reviewed here). That said if I apply it in the morning, even if I wait 15-20 min for it to be absorbed, it is very likely that I end up with panda eyes during the day. I much prefer a good hydrated panda eye to a desert around my eyes but the mission to find a light weight eye cream/serum for the day goes on.

Teoxane RHA Advanced Eye Contour is a tinted light weight cream for under the eyes. It is offered in one color and it is rather sheer so I believe many skin tones might get along with it. The applicator is a metal coated plastic. Once you push down the head, product comes out from the opening in the middle of the applicator. You can apply it directly on your eyes and feel the coolness. After massaging around the eyes with the applicator, I wash the applicator and tap the excess product around the eyes with my fingers. It gets absorbed very fast and feels very pleasant.

A few weeks ago because of some people trying to make my life hell at Instagram (don't ask), I got big puffy eyes on a Sunday morning. It was a great moment to try out a few products with the claims of "depuffying". A few of them did nothing to me but I am glad to report that Teoxane RHA Advanced Eye Contour was one of the best things which worked. It leaves a nicely hydrated under eye area, not tacky nor greasy, depuffs (tried!) and the best part? It comes with good anti-aging ingredients such as Squalane highest on the list.

Teoxane RHA Advanced Eye Contour is without perfume and suitable for sensitive skin. The only thing which I don't like about it is the smell though. It has a chemical smell, which takes me to a doctor's office. The smell goes away in a minute after application and I know I am very sensitive to disinfection scent so many might not find it disturbing after all. All in all I like the product and currently loving swiping this under my concealer to hydrate and smooth the area and to give me anti-aging benefits.

Price: It costs around 80 € for 15 ml.

Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner is a renewal cream for night. I distribute a pump of this on my face and neck. It is advised to put more but it applies very nicely and I feel the amount is right. This product is given to have a integrated Glycolic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid complex to regenerate epidermis and reactivate dermis cell. Glycolic Acid (also known as AHA) is given to be 10%, which is quite a generous amount compared to say Chanel's Le Weekend which is known to have around 3-5% AHA. On the package it is advised to patch test it before using since AHA is known to irritate on certain skin types.  Similar to Chanel Le Weekend, Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner also includes perfume and alcohol but it offers more of the active ingredient. As a comparison Chanel Le Weekend (AHA Concentrate %3-5) costs around 78€, Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner (AHA 10%) retails for 109€, both of them contain 50 ml of product. Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner includes no parabens and no phenoxyethanol, the latter is included in Chanel Le Weekend.

I really enjoy night exfoliants to wake up with a happy bright complexion. I have been enjoying Chanel Le Weekend 3-4 times a week, because I don't know why you would only apply it on the weekends anyway. I found that Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner works even better. If your skin can handle a bit more Glycol Acid, I highly recommend trying this one out.

Important to note down, if you use AHA Exfoliants, make sure to protect your skin from sun damage even more carefully since the sensitivity might increase.

Price: It costs around 109 € for 50 ml.

Final thoughts: Both of the products I have chosen from Teoxane Skin Care line impressed me. RHA Advanced Eye Contour is a nice lightweight eye cream with anti-aging benefits which I love applying under my makeup. Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner turned out to be even a better option than my beloved Chanel Le Weekend as an AHA Exfoliant for nights.

You can check out Teoxane website/online shop: International, Germany (not affiliated) for more information and product.

  1. Wow that eye cream sounds great!!! I've only very recently started trying out products with AHA as until recently my skin is so sensitive it just can't tolerate any form of chemical exfoliants at all. But having said that, i'm still not sure if i'm able to jump right into the deep end with 10% concentration :( Sounds good though!
