Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid, Review, Swatch, Comparison & FOTD

I hope you are having a wonderful week. Monday and Tuesday is always very busy for me but this week I am taking a home office tomorrow, so much yay for that! Love having a breakfast at home in lazy home outfit, luxury of the week. That said I am very disappointed with all the terror attacks around the world during the last week and today, I am very sorry to hear the one in Brussels. I am hoping that everyone comes to their senses and stop this nonsense. Innocent people are dying on bad luck. Terror has always been very nasty but this must be one of the ugliest moments in history of terror.

One of the specialities of a beauty blog must have been its focus, no matter what. You might find it disrespectful to the victims but I think it just shows that the life goes on and can't be spoiled by terror. Suqqu will release their Spring Base Collection this Thursday (24th of March), featuring Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid, which is a color correcting, highlighting primer. I would like to share my thoughts with you after using and loving it for a few months now.

Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid

Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid is a multi tasking product which you can use in many different ways. These are a few ways I tried myself:

Mixing with foundation: If you want your foundation to be more glowy, you can mix a pump of Sheer Glow Liquid. The color is not changed very much but the subtle pearl effect is lovely.

As a primer: To even out the skin tone (similar to Guerlain Météorites Base Perfecting Base), to get rid of dullness and to moisturize you can apply it all over the face or to the high points before applying your foundation.

As a liquid highlighter: It gives a subtle but definitely there glow to the highpoint of the face once applied over the foundation. (like in FOTD at the end of the post).

Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid

I usually gravitate towards powder highlighters but I have been obsessed about Suqqu Lighting Liquid last year. You can see it mentioned on my Spring Favorites post. It is very opaque and insanely pigmented compared to any other liquid highlighters I know of. Therefore the base color gives an instant light to the point it is applied. It is a superb highlighter once used on the foundation but you can't mix it with foundation or use it as a base because of its opaqueness.

Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid on the other hand, as the name suggests, has a transparency to it which makes it a more versatile product. As a highlighter, it is more subtle than Lighting Liquid. I personally love them both, for different occasion. Suqqu Sheer Glow also has a pinkish base which makes it very fresh and illuminating for Spring.

Swatch: Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid vs. Suqqu Lighting Liquid

With its moisturizing ingredients, such as Shea Butter and Peony Root Extract as well as anti inflammatory Vitamin-E, Suqqu Sheer Glow Liquid is a luxurious treat at 40 GBP. There is 25ml of product and you need less than a pump to highlight the high points or around 1-2 pumps as a primer for the whole face, so it would last for a very long time. Below I am wearing it on top of the cheek bones and a touch on cupid's bow.

Final thoughts: Big love for the subtle pinky glow as a highlighter and as a dullness eraser under the foundation. The transparency makes it such a versatile product, highly recommended.

Do you use a color correcting and brightening base under your foundation?

  1. Thank you for your review. The sheer glow liquid seems lovely but unfortunately it is too pink for me. My complexion is quite pink so I try to tone down the pinkness and not emphasise it. Will you also be reviewing the new foundation?

  2. Hi Anne,
this one is good for evening out the skin tone but you are right, if you have lots of pink which you don't want, this shade is not optimal. I have some dullness due to dry skin and it makes mine look healthier,
I don't have the new Suqqu foundation yet but I will check if I should get one. It is hard once you are away from the counter. I will review the new RMK foundation soon though.

  3. Looking forward to your review of the RMK foundation. Yes, it is hard without access to a counter especially with something like foundation. I wish Selfridges provided samples, I have ordered SUQQU products from them on several occasions and never do they offer any samples. I don't want to spend over £60 on a foundation I haven't tried.

  4. so nice to see a pink one from SUQQU! I do like liquid highlighters, but it's easy to overdo it and you did it so nicely in your fotd there!
