Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo, Review, Swatch & FOTD

That one palette, it is so pretty in the pan that after posting one picture in Instagram, I have received multiple e-mails asking for where to get it. That one palette which looks like it combined the stars from purple night sky and cotton candy from our childhood memories. Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo must be the prettiest palette of the season, even if you just look at it...

Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo

Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo (snow strawberry) comes in Suqqu Christmas Kit A together with a Refining Foam, Cleanser Cream and Suqqu Creamy Glow Compact Lipstick in Ex-13 just like Suqqu Christmas Kit B, which I have reviewed here. If I would be a sane person, I would be getting only one of them, but when it comes to Suqqu, I always loose my mind. I would like to thank here to a dear friend who picked up one for me from Selfridges dropping there early at the first day it was launched. It was a nice coincidence that she got to meet Suqqu National Make-up Artist lovely Tomoko at the counter and Tomoko was so nice to inform me directly afterwards that my Christmas Kit A was secured.  Yay, I felt like a very lucky girl!

Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo

Suqqu EX-22 Yukiichigo is a very unique palette, I don't own anything like that. Two of the powder shades are almost like subtle neons (an oxymoron you would say?) meaning they glow in a very pretty way. The cream eye shadow shade (bottom left) is the most gorgeous cream shadow I own. Combined together these shades form the Voltron (Hyakujû-ô Goraion, anyone remembering that?) and the link is, they are both made in Japan!

Here are these oh so pretty shades that I would love to smudge on my whole face (stop me!):

Top left: A glowing lavender, I am not sure how to explain the finish of this one, I don't own anything like that. It is almost a bit transparent so that if you apply it on the cream eye shadow, it shows through. Huge love.

Top right: A light neutral pink with rose gold shimmer, another very complex shade, a bit of transparency here too but can be build up, love love!

Bottom left: I need big pans of this one, many of them, I also need a nail polish and a lipstick in this color. A deep egg-plant with the most gorgeous gold shimmer.

Bottom right: The least spectacular shade, it is the base shade to put all around the lid to even out the skin tone. I use it mostly to blend the edges over the crease.

Swatch: Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo

Have you already checked Kate wearing Suqqu Ex-22? If not then you should see it!

Here comes my version, I like applying the cream eye shadow all over the lid and pad some pink and lavender on top of it. I then blend them all with the base shade over the crease. It is very easy to apply and blend and the result is so stunning. Unfortunately right now I am having day light problem so I can't shoot nice FOTDs. I am hoping it will get a bit sunnier in the next days.

In-action: Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow EX-22 Yukiichigo

Here is my FOTD from the dark side (!). It is taken with the help of some flash. In real life it looks much more stunning, this is just to give an idea. On my cheeks I am wearing MAC Sweet Sentiment (reviewed here) and Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Rosy Boop on my lips (reviewed here).

Final thoughts: Is this still available? Don't waste time, it is gorgeousness in the pan.

  2. Oh Gosh, I must admit that in the pan and in the swatches, the only shade that interests me is the one on the bottom left. On your eyes, they all come to life! Stunning look, Sara!

  3. That was such a nice gesture by Tomoko! I like how you put the words purple night sky and cotton candy from childhood memories together because it makes the palette that much more special. :D Although I still eat cotton candy on a regular basis. LOL.

Very nice look you put together! I don't do pastel pinks very well but I really love the deep eggplant shade. Looks great on you! :)

LOL, this cracked me up, you eat cotton candy? I like it too but try not to eat ;-))
Deep eggplant is very unique and lovely. I think they should do a cream eye shadow of that one and send me that in a big bowl ;-)))

  4. Lovely to see this look. The aubergine brown is just stunning. They would sell endless pots of this if they sold it solo but all the colours blend so well together. Have you seen the vintage repromote out on Thursday? Susan, London

  6. This is such a beautiful palette and the look you created is so fresh and pretty!! I was very sad that both of the sets were sold out when I visited Osaka last week, so I shall keep admiring it's beauty from afar.

  9. Helloooooo, beautiful! Such pretty fresh shades and I agree, that cream shade is to DIE FOR! I am always amazed how the same colors look so different on people and the pinks look so intense on your skin compared to Kate. Both of you wear it beautiful.
I make confession now: too scared to crack open my palette to put on my face. scared it is going to look crap!

    1. LOL, Belly, I had to laugh to why you didn't use it yet, I am sure it will look stunning on you and we will all be like "wow".
You are right, the lighter shades are showing up more on me than they do on Kate since I am darker than her. Oh and I have a pink and purple emphasizing complexion, it can be my green undertones or something, who knows ;-)

I can't wait to see you wearing it!

  10. Seems like there are quite a few daring shades in this palette! I love the look you created with them though. I would probably stick to the bottom shades in the pan myself ;)

    1. Hi Silke, Bottom left shade is so beautiful. Just to change it a bit, pad one of the shades from top raw lightly on it and voila, you have another look! :-)
