Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Youth Protector & Tinted Sun Care Review, Swatch & Comparison

Would you believe, it is almost half week. I am counting backwards from four more weeks to go. The end of semester is always getting very busy. It had been a hell of a ride for the first year. I am hoping to get things settled by after mid July. I can't express enough gratitude to those who are having around. I am doing my best to hang in there too.

I had been testing the new products from Sisley's  Super Soin Solaire line. To me Sisley is a brand with few but very fine products. For instance they only have two eye shadow quads but they are both exceptional (#1 Dream is reviewed here) or they have two shades from their gorgeous L'orchidee Blush (Rose reviewed here) but they are both my most used blushes since they deliver both in terms of longevity, pigment and blendability. I am also loving their skin care, I have to admit even more than their color products. Black Rose Face Oil full stop! Nothing more to say. This is why I am very excited to share my thoughts with you today after I tested their new tinted moisturizer and sun screen, right after the jump.

Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Youth Protector & Tinted Sun Care

Sisley Super Soin Solaire Youth Protector SPF 30 PA+++

It is a water resistant sun screen for the face which comes in a 60 ml (around 166€ in Germany) squeeze tube. It is colorless and as far as I can see from the ingredients list (which I copied at the end of this post) it doesn't have nano particles. I know some of you had been asking for a sun screen without nano, so this might be interesting for you. It doesn't leave a white cast, absorbs quickly and it is not greasy but with its Glycerin content, it feels great on my dry skin. The sun blockers which are used include ethylhexyl triazine and octocrylene both of which are listed as good to best by various sources. It is also enriched by shea butter, sage oil, flower oils and mango extract. It is one of the most nourishing sun screens I have used. SPF 30 is great for me in Germany during Summer when I am not outdoors all day. I will keep on using this and let you know how it goes at holidays too, when I can really test how water resistance it is after I start sweating *winks*

Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Youth Protector & Tinted Sun Care

Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Tinted Sun Care SPF 30 PA+++

This is a tinted sun care product which comes in a similar squeeze tube, has 40 ml of product and costs around 125€ in Germany. It comes in four colors, #0 porcelain, #1 natural, #2 golden, #3 amber. I have #1 Natural and it is just a little deeper than my skin tone but I am usually between the lightest and second shade in Sisley products so it was not a surprise for me. After my face gets into summer mode, I think this shade will be perfect. Unlike Youth Protector, Tinted Sun Care has nano ingredients such as Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide as sun blocker.

Before/After: Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Tinted Sun Care #1 Natural

I am very excited about this product and wished that the shade would match a bit better, it would totally be my every day foundation. The consistency is very dense so although it is rather pricey, a very small amount goes a long way. It is nothing like your sheer tinted moisturizer, this baby can cover and does that in a very natural way while keeping the healthy glow. It almost looks like skin. I have a few spots going on, you can see that how they are all taken care of, including under eye circles without even using concealer. The lasting power is great too. This product is also labelled as water resistant, so I am very excited to give it a go once the weather gets warmer,

Swatch Comparison: Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Tinted Sun Care #1 Natural

Here is a shade comparison of #1 Natural with some of the other foundations I am using. Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Light is one of my best matches and you can see that it is cooler and lighter. Sisley #1 Natural unfortunately has a tad of peach in there which always looks off on me but it is nothing close to the peachiness of Diorskin Nude Air 020. If you are around Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua B20, then #1 Natural should be a good match for you. I believe it is around those of you who are MAC NC20.

Ingredients: Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Youth Protector & Tinted Sun Care

You had seen me wearing this foundation in many of the FOTDs lately but here is one with full face Sisley products. You can see the rest of the products listed here

Final thoughts: All in all in terms of longevity, the finish, the cover and how it feels on my dry skin, I am head over heels in love with Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Tinted Sun Care. I just wished the shade would be a little less peachy but your undertones might be more forgiving. Sisley Paris Super Soin Solaire Youth Protector is a great product for those with dry skin, it is not greasy, doesn't have a white cast and it is very hydrating/nourishing. Latter is especially recommended for those who are cautious to nano ingredients. Thumbs up for both of the products.

Are you going with the nano ingredients flow or trying to get away from it?

  2. Ooh, this sounds lovely! I like a 2-in-1 tinted sunscreen and this one seems luxurious- as with all Sisley products :) I am currently obsessed with Tatcha's Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen :)

  3. Thank you for your review. I generally try to avoid nano ingredients but if I really like a foundation that has nano ingredients I will use it. I'd like to find a really good foundation without SPF (so that I could wear sunscreen of my choice underneath if needed) but the foundations I like most do have both chemical and nano sunscreens. 🙂

  4. Hello Sara! I bought the stick from Sisley, but I need something lighter on my skin, good as a makeup base. I'm deciding between the Sisley Youth Protector and the RMS primer with SPF that you reviewed a while ago. Which one would you recommend? Thanks a lot!!!! Kisses!

  5. Hi there, both of them are excellent. I suggest you go with Ssley if you have mature or dry skin ( or both). RMK (I hope you meant RMK UV Long Lasting Base) is very thin base and provides SPF 45, PA ++++ so more than Sisley but I would recommend it for more normal to combination skin. Hope that helps. (trying to get back to blogging at the moment, thanks for sticking around).
