RMK Irresistible Bright Lips Lipsticks 01 Vivid Pink, 04 Apricot, 06 Natural Rose, 07 Deep Rose, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I hope you are having a great week. We had a bank holiday today, which came god sent after going to work yesterday after thinking I was fit and all that but it turned out I got the headache back in no time. Whatever it is (gladiator virus?) it is not all gone yet but today after sleeping through and having a relaxed day at home, I feel fit again. I am behind all kinds of blog things, comments, posts, please bare with me.

Today I have the launch for you from one of my favorite Japanese make-up brands RMK. Brand recently discontinued their lip products and released two newly formulated lipstick lines. They are called Irresistible Glow Lips and Irresistible Bright Lips. I would like to share my thoughts about both of the lines with you. Today I start with RMK Irresistible Bright Lips Lipsticks

RMK Irresistible Bright Lips Lipsticks 01 Vivid Pink, 04 Apricot, 06 Natural Rose, 07 Deep Rose

RMK Irresistible Bright Lips Lipsticks come in ten shades, eight of them being permanent and two being limited edition. I have four of the permanent shade to show you. The full list of shades are as follows:

Permanent:
01 Vivid Pink, 02 Pink Red, 03 Coral Red, 04 Apricot, 05 Shiny Beige, 06 Natural Rose, 07 Deep Rose, 08 Deep Red

Limited:
Ex-01 Shiny Pink, Ex-02 Feminine Beige

The formula is creamy and hydrating. In terms of longevity they are medium to high on me. If I apply straight from the bullet, they last around 4-5 hours. If I apply with a lip brush, blot and apply again, they last a few hours longer. The feeling of hydration does last. These are called "bright lips" but the formula is not very thick. It is rather lightweight, between a sheer and a classic lipstick. Somewhere along Guerlain's Kiss Kiss formula for example or Chanel Cocos (closer to the older formula). They don't bleed, so I don't use a lipliner most of the time. Sometimes though I like using a natural lipliner to enhance the shape of my lips.

Swatch: RMK Irresistible Bright Lips Lipsticks 01 Vivid Pink, 04 Apricot, 06 Natural Rose, 07 Deep Rose

As you can recognize by the bullet closeups above, some of the shades have glitter in them while some are (almost) straight creams. 07 Deep Rose is a shade with tiny glitters. It doesn't look over the top once worn on the lips, instead it gives a nice feminine touch and dimension. But if you rub your upper and lower lip together, it feels a bit gritty. Some of Guerlain Kiss Kiss lipsticks have this type of finish too. I know that not everyone likes the feel, I don't bother too much about it though because after putting it on and rubbing once, I don't rub my lips together again.

07 Deep Rose is a medium mauve/old rose color which is very flattering on my skin tone. Ladies who like purple, pink shouldn't miss this one. It is one my favorites of the bunch and I like the multi colored sparkles in that one too which makes it more special than my other hundred mauves. Here is the FOTD you have already seen in this post and some asked for the lipstick shade. I like wearing it with natural rosy eye makeup, like Sisley Dream (reviewed here) or Urban Decay Naked 3.

RMK Irresistible Bright Lips 06 Natural Rose is a more universally flattering medium natural pink which you can wear with cool or warm eye makeup alike. The finish of natural rose is similar to deep rose. It has glitter inside the lipstick which you might recognize when you rub your lips. It is comfortable to wear though and I didn't experience and migration of glitter. Below I coupled this look with Armani Eye Tint #10 in Senso (reviewed here) which is my super quick eye makeup look nowadays.

What about nude apricot lips? RMK Irresistible Bright Lips 04 Apricot is a brightening nude which is not too pale and it is exactly what the name suggests. Similar to the other two shades, the finish has some shimmer in there but they are smaller and finer than 07 Deep Rose and 06 Natural Rose so they are barely recognizable on the lips. Apricot is a color I reach for a lot during Spring and Summer. Below I am wearing it together with Tom Ford Eye & Cheek Compact (reviewed here) which has a beautiful peachy shade to apply all over the lid. I think peach and apricot shades complement each other nicely. I wore this look yesterday when I was sick but had to go to work as I find it to be brightening.

I would like to try the shade with the name "Vivid Pink" but it turned out to be a nice pink red instead. Since I have lots of hot pinks at the moment, I can't complain about this one being more unique to my "red avoiding" stash. I am going to post about the eye make-up of this look which I wore today, tomorrow. 01 Vivid Pink also have some shimmer but they are very fine and very hard to recognize on the lips. It is the longest lasting of all colors on me too. If you can't wear reds, this is a shade you can look into, it is not red but almost kind of. It is similar to Burberry Kisses Crimson Pink (reviewed here) but it is less bright, thus more wearable for the day.

If you would like to order online, I believe the shades in this photo  (from RMK website) is quiet good. Also the glittery shades are shown with texture. You see that 01 and 04 are shown smooth. I do see some very fine glitter when I closely look in the tube but on the lips I can't feel anything. Looking at this photo I might need 03 too, looks like a gorgeous shade!

I will also be reviewing four of the Irresistible Glow Lips soon. Here is a sneak peak.

RMK Irresistible Bright Lips and Irresistible Glow Lip Lipsticks

Final thoughts: All in all, the formula is lightweight and pigmented. It is also hydrating (not overly so, which is a plus in my book). I like the packaging, which is simple but chic. It collects a bit of finger prints but doesn't look bad afterwards. The glitter in some of the shades can be felt when you rub your lips against each other (especially 06 and 07), which might be a problem for some. Other have smoother textures (01 and 04). The longevity is good on me, especially when applied with a lip brush, blotted and applied again. Although the name of the line has "bright" in there, the colors I have tried are all rather undrestated, wearable everyday.

Availability: (not affiliated) You can get RMK from Beautybay, Lookfantastic as well as Selfridges.

How do you feel about glitter in lipsticks? Have you checked RMK lippies out yet?

  3. Oh My! You look so freaking gorgeous in the last pic, vivid pink really suits you. It sounds really tempting and a completely new to me brand, but I started a "no buy ban" in June, specially for makeup (I might have gone a little overboard in April and May, ehemm). So I will pretend I'm not at all interested :/

  6. Thanks so much Nati, so kind of you.
Vivid Pink is not all my color but I liked the end result once combined with the palette I am about to review. LOL, these are permanent so take your time, spend time with the peanut ;-) I hope you are both doing good.

  11. Apricot looks so pretty on you! Actually, all the shades do. I'm on the market for a couple of new lipstick shades to add to my collection. I have quite a few brighter pinks but I'm not too keen on them anymore, they make me look even younger than I already look which is not a blessing right now!

  12. I always find it so cute that RMK names all their products Irresistible xyz! The names make absolutely no sense really!! This is a brand I have never been attracted to, I owned a couple of blushes and found them all rather blah. But I really like the look of Vivid Pink on you!
