My Must-Haves from Dior Skyline Fall 2016 Collection, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I hope you are having a great weekend. Last week was the first week of the lectures and there were some additional appointments so I ended up too exhausted to post but I am hoping to make it up for it by posting this weekend and possibly also on Monday. I was asked to review Sisley's new foundation to which I laid my hands on recently and tested during this week, waiting for a new shade in that one since it was too dark. I also took some photos of Guerlain's new Lingerie de Peau formulation and their new concealer, that might come very soon as I was testing it for a good while now. Suqqu's pre-Christmas collection is right now on test as well, hope to get it done during next week since the products will be released shortly. And I got my claws to some exciting pieces from the very exciting Victoria Beckham Collection of Estée Lauder *drum rolls*. I can't wait to show you these.

I haven't purchased any eye/lip products from Dior for so long. I usually only went for the nail polishes since I am kind of collecting them and I know from the page counts that my nail polish posts are much appreciated so I wanted to keep up with that. This fall there were four nail polishes and I ordered them sight unseen just to find out that they were all... shades of poo colors... ugh! Anyway, I don't know if I will have enough motivation to get a comparison post for these but surprisingly I am loving two other products I picked up from Dior Skyline Fall 2016 Collection so much that I thought I should let you know before they are gone. These are, Diorshow Mono Lustrous Smoky #794 Fever and a matching lipstick Dior Addict Mirror Shine #927 Sophisticated

Diorshow Mono Lustrous Smoky #794 Fever and Dior Addict Mirror Shine #927 Sophisticated

I haven't purchased any shades from the new monos of Dior but when I saw these super shiny and metallic shade with a gorgeous complexity, I forgot every other eyeshadow I recently picked up from Dior and ended up not working for me. I think the brand went more in the light pigmentation direction lately but these are #794 Fever is packed up with color. It is also indicated on the package as "Saturated Pigment Smoky Eye". It reminds me of Urban Decay Moon Dust or MAC Dazzleshows but this one is done much better. First of all, it has almost no fall out, during and after the application. The powder seem to magically adhere to the surface and never let go. Then it is so soft and application is a breeze. Can you tell I am impressed?

Diorshow Mono Lustrous Smoky #794 Fever also blends effortlessly. Below I am only wearing it over Nars Proprime. For this look I blended the edges with a clean brush and added Burberry Effortless Eye Kohl in #04 Pale Grape. That is one eye liner you need if you have green eyes. Fever is also a shade which goes great with my complexion of eyes/hair/skin, in case you are close to me but I think Fever would go good with many complexions. The shade is mauve leaning taupe if I might describe it but it falls short because it has multi color sparkles, ah so pretty!

Eye look: Diorshow Mono Lustrous Smoky #794 Fever

Here is the full look. I usually don't go with metallic lipsticks but there is something with this one, a shade I didn't own yet and complements the eye shadow in such a great way. I went for light contouring for the cheek bones and some highlighter to sculpt out. I don't like blush with this grayish mauve looks and I am definitely not needing any bronzer at the moment.

Final thoughts: Being one of the few eye products that impressed me from Dior line recently, I thought I need to let you know. Especially if you like your taupes a little cool and mauve leaning, don't miss this one, you might regret. It goes so well with the matching lipstick, just saying.

Did you pick up anything from Dior Skyline Fall 2016 Collection? Any recommendations?

  1. Thanks for the link love, Sara. I love your picks here. The eye shadow looks amazing on you! And you got a bit of colour on your skin too. From your holidays? Looking great!

  2. I only purchased the palette Capital of Light from this collection and it is already out of my comfort zone, the shades are complex and I can use the pink on my cheeks as well. The mauve taupes are not my kind of colors, so I skipped this single, but it's great on you!! I tried the nail polish skyline twice but it was streaky, maybe I needed more coats... Looking forward to see your picks from VB x Estée Lauder!!!! I'll buy the eye palette and the highlighter as soon as they arrive in The Netherlands!!!

  5. I have bright green eyes too, but am so disappointed as I was ready with my Credit card to whip it out the CC and purchase everything. NOTHING is in stock though at Dior, or at Neiman's or Nordstrom. Boo-Hoo, I'll have to wait, but am ready to try them all out! Thank you so much, I am going way, way out of my comfort zone and am going to wear it all just like you did! Thanks again!
