Chanel Le Vernis #641 Tenderly, #643 Desirio and #645 Paradisio for Rêverie Parisienne Spring 2015 Collection, Swatch, Review & Comparison

For me, it is always one of the most exciting posts to write when Chanel releases new nail polishes. If you follow the blog (or just happened to check out my stash), you know by now that I am an avid nail polish collector. Chanel Le Vernis has been on top of my favorites list for years. This year I turned lucky and got my hands on Spring Collection nail polishes much before than I would have ever anticipated. Thanks to two very special people who made this possible for me.

Today I am happy to share the swatches and comparisons for Chanel Le Vernis #641 Tenderly, #643 Desirio and #645 Paradiso for Rêverie Parisienne Spring 2015 Collection.

Chanel Le Vernis #641 Tenderly, #643 Desirio and #645 Paradiso

As the first photos of a mint green nail polish starting showing up on the internet, every Le Vernis lover's heart skipped a beat. It is not so often that Chanel releases a green or blue polish, so it is something to look after. The last time I remember a green Le Vernis must be #591 Alchemie, which was not really a green but more of a greenish gold. Before that there was #657 Azure which is not the easiest shade to sport on a daily basis but nevertheless oh so pretty.

When I applied #645 Paradisio on my nails, the first reaction was disappointment. Where did the green go? It looked a lot more like a tone of metallic white, with a slight mint green tingle. You can see it in two coats below. I think it is better to go for the third coat with this one to get it opaque. It shows the brush strokes a little, nothing dramatical, meaning nothing close to say #545 Attraction. It applies smoothly and the consistency is nice. It is a nice shade for those who like pearl finishes.

Although Paradisio is not what the fans expected, it is certainly a unique shade in my stash.

I have included Chanel Sky Line (discontinued) for the comparison because it is one of the pearly shades which I really like. As you see it has much more color compared to Paradisio. Some hoped it would be a nice addition to the stashes of those who missed #407 Jade (discontinued), but unfortunately Jade is much greener. Even Chanel Riva (discontinued) had more blue in there. Dior #191 Glacier (discontinued) is like a blue version of Paradisio. The finish and density of Chanel #152 Surprise  (discontinued) is very close but it is warmer. Chanel #335 Blanc Ceramic (discontinued) is the closest of the bunch, and the name suggests it is indeed a "white" nail polish. *frowns* Chanel #123 Crystal Blue (discontinued) is a close shade, it is a cream. I have also included Chanel #545 Attraction as a comparison it is a plain stark white with pearl finish. You can see Paradisio is a little different than Attraction, but not stark, easier to wear.

Le Vernis #643 Desirio is one of those stunning mid-toned pinks of Chanel with hidden fuchsia shimmer which is only visible in the bottle. On the nails it looks like a light hearted berry shade, which is not too purple nor too pink. It is not bright nor dark. It is a very wearable shade for all year around. The formula of Desirio is one of Chanel's best, it is not thick nor thin and it is a one coater! Below I have applied two coats to try out but with one it looked almost the same. I am loving Desirio and typing this post while wearing it.

Le Vernis #643 Desirio might not be the most unique pink in my stash but I couldn't find any dupes either. Chanel Infidele (discontinued) is more mauve, Chanel #561 Suspicious is much more red. I thought Chanel #339 Cassis (discontinued) would be close but it turned out it is lighter and cooler. A recent release, Chanel #19 Rouge No.19 (reviewed here) is a tad warmer and brighter. Chanel #609 Coup de Coeur (reviewed here) is a bit deeper and warmer. Dior #988 Diorette (reviewed here) is deeper and moodier.

All in all if you are not obsessed with collecting Le Vernis and have Coup de Coeur, Rouge No.19 or Infidele, I think you might skip Desirio.

Chanel Le Vernis #641 Tenderly is a stunner. It is that polish, that I need a back-up of. It is the perfect violet taupe with cream finish. It is not a dark or vamp shade, nor it is too colorful. Tenderly is a very wearable yet interesting nail polish, thumbs up! I like the consistency of this one, self leveling, not too thick. It is very easy to work with and opaque in two coats.

I have pulled out some dusty violets from my collection to compare side by side with Tenderly. YSL #13 Parme Graffiti and Dior #694 Forget-me-not (discontinued) are both more purple in comparison. Although they are not dupes, Le Vernis #641 Tenderly is very close to Dior #798 Spring (reviewed here) . Dior Spring is a little moodier, deeper and a tad more brown/taupe. Chanel #505 Particuliere is also close but has less purple and more brown.

As much as I love Chanel #641 Tenderly, you probably won't need it if you have already splurged for Dior #798 Spring, which is released just a few months ago.

Final thoughts: Chanel brings out three new Le Vernis shades for the upcoming Spring. Although I like all of them, none of them are pure love for me. If I were to go only for one single shade, it would be Tenderly though. Thumbs up for Chanel consistency, quality and staying power. The other brands claim that they reformulating all the time and come up with big buzz, Chanel does it quietly. I can see a big improvement in their nail polish formula over the last 2-3 years. Desirio is a one-coater and the formula is one of the best out there. I wished that Paradisio would be a little edgier, more green.

Which is your favourite? Are you started making Spring wish lists already?

    1. You are right, blush is to die for, I still couldn't bring myself to swatch it, too pretty to touch.

  2. Desirio is my favorite shade here! I was wondering if Tenderly is similar to Dior Spring, and I'm glad to see it is. Dior Spring actually isn't optimal on my skin tone, so I'm guessing Tenderly wouldn't be that different ;)

    1. I am wearing Desirio since a few days and I really like it. It has a touch of blue which makes it unique, as unique as a pink can be ;-)
I didn't know that you didn't like Dior Spring, then probably Tenderly won't be your favorite either.

  4. OMG!!! Overview of spring collections? Already? :) It looks like a signal that it's time to start saving money!))))
Paradisio is not for me, but Desirio & Tenderly i'll definitely buy. Looking forward to your reviews of the Chanel Blush Camelia Rose and Les 4 Ombres 236 Tisse Fantaisie ;) , it must be beautiful, I think.

    1. LOL Olia, yes I know, Spring already!
Wr haven't even had Christmas yet, but fashion industry works ahead of the time.
You understood it right, it gives the signal "start saving, pretties are coming' ;-)
Your picks are great, I would exactly pick the same!

  5. Lovely. I can't wait to get my hands on all of them. I'm amazed that Tenderly is so close in tone to Particuliere, which I have as classic taupe with no mauve, but it looks very wearable and pretty for English Spring - I can see myself bringing out my beloved Diapason eyeshadow with this!! I suspect I will get most use from Desirio, the Chanel Berry colours are unbeatable for flattering any skin tone. Susan, London

    1. Hi Susan,
I know you also collect Chanel polish so for you one way or the other they are must-haves. I was also very surprised to see that Particuliere turned out to be that close. Diapason is lovely, would totally go with Tenderly! I am wearing Desirio at the moment and I really like it. It has a touch of blue which makes it different from other Chanels.

    1. LOL, Desiro is pretty, a bit more blue based than it seems here, which makes it even prettier!
My motto: You can never have enough Le Vernis! ;-)

  7. Paradisio was the item that caught my eye from this collection, so I'm disappointed to see that the green fades when the polish is applied. It looks so striking and unusual in the bottle! Desirio and Tenderly are beautiful, but I have dupes (or might-as-well-be-dupes) for both.

  8. So sad about Paradiso! But I think the beauty of Tenderly mostly makes up for it, definitely will be getting that one!

  9. Thank you for the comparisons! I really like Tenderly. I don't remember which collection Sky Line is from but it's so pretty! :)

    1. Skyline was a limited edition "the blu collection" (or something like that) featuring two blue cream eyeshadow (apparition, destination) . The year was 2011 (or 2012)

  10. All very pretty! I love the delicate green of Paradisio, but I am not sure I can handle the frosty/brushstroke issue. I will wait to see that in person. Desirio looks good- i love those Chanel deep pinks. Tenderly may be the winner for me. I love and collect shades like that and when Charivari came out I was psyched. When I tried it, I loved but couldn't justify since it was way too close to other shades in my stash. I am hoping Tenderly is a paler version of Charivari, though it looks a lot more taupe/grey than blue/grey undertone. Dior Spring is nice but again I passed since it is an almost dupe to one of my stash shades. glad to see Tenderly is not close to Spring. I am wondering how it would compare to my other stash shades- Dior Purple Mix, OPI Parlez vous etc but from your photos it looks unique. Chanel Spring collections are my favorites.

    1. Hi Lorraine, Tenderly is much lighter than Charivari. I have Dior Purple Mix, which is more purple and darker as well, that is why I didn't add it to the comparison (since it is very different).
I don't have OPI Parlez Vous.

  12. Hmm... these are yawns for me, unfortunately. Desirio looks like it may be similar to Tom Ford's Indiscretion... But what these really tell me is, Chanel has gone crazy this Spring!! These aren't Spring colors! And I love crazy!!! Crazy is good!!!

    1. LOL, yes we like crazy. I think I may like wearing them in Spring. I am not much into pastels but like them on the nails. I think this collection is overall nice, not like super love but it is much better than the previous 3-4 collection which looked very uncoordinated.

  13. I agree- Tenderly looks like the standout! Thanks for the preview, Sara :)

  14. Tenderly is so pretty! You have gorgeous nails by the way.

P.S: Earlier I commented on a really old post. I didn't pay attention to the date and didn't realize it was a post from last year. Woops ;-)

  15. Thank you very much for the great and wonderful samples (as always!).

I am surprised to see that Paradisio shows so little color. Personally, I think that's a good thing - I love pale, shimmery polishes and I cannot wear greens or blues. But I understand why many people are disappointed.

I am going to get Desirio no matter how close it is to Coup de Coeur and No19 as I love both polishes madly. :-)

I am also looking forward to Tenderly. I was very tempted by Dior Spring, but the Dior formula and I are not the best friends so I am happy Chanel is making a similar color.

I'll have to wait a couple of months before the collection is available in my country, but I think these are worth the wait.

Desirio is gorgeous! I am wearing it since one week with very minor tip wear and I received lots of compliments!

  16. Great post as usual. I was also thinking Tenderly looks like Dior Purple Mix. Though the formula and brush on that one are a pain so would probably get Tenderly anyhow...

    1. Hi Dee,
I have compared it to all the Dior shades, Dior Purple Mix was more purple and deeper so didn't get in the closest 5 shades list. If you have that one, you can safely get Tenderly and justify owning both! :-)

  18. Hello Sara, thanks for your review. I am wondering how Desirio compares to Dior Bloom 777, I have the Dior one but I am attracted by Desirio too.
