Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection Eau de Toilette Review

“I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.”
Anaïs Nin

Spring is long due, beauty world is ready to embrace the summer. The feeling of sun kissing our face, the delicate breeze from the sea touching our hair. Let's talk summer today. Let's talk about the first limited edition fragrance of Elie Saab, Le Parfum Resort Collection Eau de Toilette.

Ellie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection Eau de Toilette (Limited Edition)

Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection EdT comes in a crystal cut bottle similar to the original Le Perfum and L'Eau Couture from the designer. This time around it dresses in a delicate blue. Because of the refraction of light on its surface, it reminds me of sun rays dancing on the surface of the sea on a sunny carefree day by the beach.

Top Notes:
Fig, Mandarin, Orange Blossom
Heart Notes:
Jasmine, Frangipani
Base Notes:
Amber, Cedarwood

Reading the list of notes is like taking a walk by the Mediterranean, where you can just lift your arm to reach to a tree close by to get an orange or to enjoy the sweet company of a fig. Although the fragrance pyramid suggests a fruity opening, on me the floral heart is apparent by the first whiff. Softly at first, Jasmine reveals its sensual self on a slightly fresh, not too sweet scene. I am naturally drawn to fig fragrances, although in Elie Saab Resort EdT it is barely noticable on me but it becomes to add something unique which I can't put my finger on. As amber fills the base of the jasmine, it becomes slightly sweeter and more skin like. Jasmine fades after five hours on me, leaving a pleasant woody musky dry down.

The nose behind Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection EdT is noone else than Francis Kurkdjian who won my heart over and over again, just recently with his creation My Burberry for Burberry. Elie Saab Resort Collection EdT is a very pleasant fragrance, suitable for office all year long but I know I will enjoy it most on a hot summer night's date. It lasts on me around 7 hours which is long considering that it is listed as EdT.

Final thoughts: A soft summary white floral with a pleasant musky woody dry down. It is a lovely addition to your closet for the upcoming season.

Availability/Price: Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection Eau de Toilette is limited edition and is now available online and in boutiques. 50 ml (pictured above) retails for around 65€.

What is your favorite note for summer? Do you prefer EdT once it is warmer?

  1. I have this one as well, but I haven't opened it up because it has fig... It is unfortunate, but fig is just a note I can't stomach at all. I will take a whiff eventually, but maybe on a blotter first so that I don't feel ill for the rest of the day :p I have no doubt this is a great scent tho!

  2. I love fig and wished it would be more pronounced.... Which is good news for you because here it only whispers if at all. I think Elie Saab Resort EdT is more about jasmine and the dry down. It is certainly not a fig fragrance.

  3. Such a pretty bottle but I wasn't too keen on My Burberry (too floral) so I may have to test carefully. I love fig for Summer though. Susan, London

  4. I think Elie Saab is always about jasmine in some way (thats why i have two of her other perfumes). Last summer's favorites: L'Eau Couture Elie Saab, Bronze Goddess Estee Lauder, London Burberry, Chloe Chloe, Versace Vanitas, Guerlain Idylle, Jo Malone Orange Blossom, and J'adore Dior sometimes. Basically, all are variations of white flowers:) My favorite scent of all times is Killian Liaisons Dangereuses, but it makes me feel almost high, so not for summer. Will check this in store! Curious.

  6. Hi Susan,
if you like a soft Jasmine for summer you might like it. It is very different than My Burberry, which had different floral quality.

  7. Hi Jane,
I have yet to try Orange Blossom and Liaisons Dangereuses, last one is calling me, I like potent perfumes. Thanks for your recommendations.

  9. By Kilian has no jasmine and is extremely sweet, I don't understand why I love it so much. When bought as a travel size with a refill bottle, it's not that expensive and the small (I guess 10ml) bottle is perfect to carry in a cosmetic bag. Orange Blossom was a winner when I was stuck for an hour in a JM boutique in Lyon on a rainy day and run a test of all their perfumes on my poor bf's nose :)

And that blue glass is just perfect for a "Resort" perfume, too. Will be keeping an eye out for this one!!

  12. LOL, I also keep spraying perfumes and make hubby smell it. He must be so over it at the moment but sometimes he is better with notes than I am, which annoys me lol.
