Guerlain La Laque Couleur 143 Nahema Swatch & Comparisons

Some days ago I introduced you a rather different looking bottle and reported about the reaction of the Shoebox Land citizens. That very positive experience made me want to explore some more colors from new Guerlain nail polishes. I would like to review another one today, Guerlain La Laque Couleur 143 Nahema.

Nahema is a bright coral leaning a tad more orange than pink. Depending on the light it would appear more orange or more pink, so I took some pictures with different settings trying to show you different faces.

The consistency is very similar to previously reviewed 165 Champs-Elysée. It has a gel like property too but unlike Champs-Elysee which was opaque in two coats, this one needed three coats which still showed a bit of nail line on some nails.

The staying power is very impressive. After four days, I don't even have tip wear. I am guessing that the gel consistency is much more flexible so the bending of nails doesn't form small cracks on the surface, which makes this formula overall more durable.

All in all I like the color and the staying power, I just wished that it would be a tad more opaque since I usually only like applying two coats of my nail polish. The reason is that I like changing the color frequently which makes the third coat only a waste of time and product for me.

Once I checked for the closest shades in my stash, I found the summer polishes of Chanel, Lilis from this year and Holiday from last year as well as two close Dior polishes, Riviera from last year and Psychedelic Orange from the permanent range.

Once swatched side by side Holiday is more orange. This shows that Nahema is more a mid-toned bright coral, not an orange nail polish as it may appear in some of the previous photos. Lilis and Psychedelic Orange have more pink inside. Dior Riviera is very close in terms of color. However the consistency of Riviera is rather creme and different than Guerlain 143 Nahema.

Final thoughts: Guerlain La Laque Couleur 143 Nahema is a gorgeous vibrant summer coral with gel like consistency. It is a bit sheerer than 165 Champs-Elysées, which was opaque with just two coats. Nahema needs three coats. Lasting power is very good, still no tip wear on me after 4 days. If you have Dior Riviera though, you may want to splurge on something else, since two shades are very close.
