Bvlgari Man in Black All Black Edition Eau de Parfum Intense, Review

I hope you had a great weekend. Mine went away faster than I thought. I couldn't even make it to the city to go shopping, booh. A part of the reason was to stay home and play around with the new lighting. I am so loving my new soft boxes. I am wondering why I haven't ordered these before since under a hundred bucks, they are affordable too. I think the main reason was that I didn't know what to order. Photography is one of the biggest challenges of blogging since the surfaces of make-up have everything from medium to hard, including metal, glass, transparency, reflections, shine and glitter. Then there are so many options, ring light, led light, day light bulbs and the list continues. Three years into blogging, I think I started to get a little satisfied with the results after finding the right lights. Tough stuff.

Lately I talked about some Clarin's skin care Thomas was testing. The comments under that post is so hilarious, I have to admit reading them multiple times when I need to laugh. If you haven't read them yet, make sure you do, here. It is about men and their skin care routines *grins*. Today though, I have something no man would object. A super sexy bottle and a scent, which made to Thomas' top three the moment he took a whiff, it is Bvlgari Man in Black Eau de Parfum Intense.

Bvlgari Man in Black All Black Edition Eau de Parfum Intense, Review

Black and gold, the heavy glass bottle of Bvlgari Man in Black Eau de Parfum Intense looks and feels luxury. This particular version, called "All Black Edition" promises more intensity. The breath taking design on the limited edition bottle is inspired by "moko" facial tattoos from New Zealand. The notes stay true to the original Man in Black and are listed as follows:

Top Notes
Vibrant Spicy Tobacco, Ambery Rum

Heart Notes
Tuberose, Iris Absolute, Leather Accord

Base Notes
Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Guaiac Wood

The spray can be activated by pressing the upper part with gorgeous details, such as carved letters of the brand on the golden metallic surface. The spray and Bvlgari Logo right underneath is kept same as the original. Man in Black has 30 ml, 60 ml, 100 ml and 150 ml options whereas All Black Edition only comes in 100 ml bottle, the one you can see in the photos.

Bvlgari Man in Black All Black Edition Eau de Parfum Intense

Bvlgari Man in Black Eau de Parfum Intense opens up with catchy spicy ambery rum notes which makes you wish they never ever fade. Rum is so realistic and seductive at the same time. I can without a doubt write this bottle has won the price for "my all time favorite opening act" in men's perfume. I love how the slightly sweet ambery touch is being enriched by the spices and how these balance the irresistibly gorgeous rum note.  Once the masculine flower heart starts to come out, it reveals the gentleman in this man who drank a bit too much rum and tobacco on the first place. What a different way to get to know him. During the heart phase, he holds you the coat, opens you the doors. A touch of tonic bean slowly makes him a touch sweeter but never too much. That is why I think I might sneak in to get a spray or two on me too, I love me a good men's perfume to sniff all day long on my wrist.

The original Bvlgari Man in Black is very close to Perfume Intense but I found the rum note in Perfume Intense to be more prominent, the tobacco is also more noticeable although it never gets too smoky nor too leathery. Perfume Intense stays longer in each of its notes so the longevity is better. That said if you missed Perfume Intense, I still recommend you to take a whiff of the original. Both of them are A+ perfumes in my book.

Bvlgari Man in Black All Black Edition Eau de Parfum Intense

Final thoughts: Love at the first whiff after impressing at the first sight. Thomas told me "I can already see this one being my new favorite and I can see why. I love the realistic rum on delicious spices, leathery floral heart and a touch of tonic bean on the base. It never gets heavy but it always shows a character. Bvlgari Man in Black Eau de Parfum Intense is a well done neo-oriental with a good longevity.

Availability/Price: It was available starting from December and mostly sold out online. I have seen some people begging for a bottle at fragrantica. In Germany/Europe you can still get it at Flaconi (not affiliated). The price for 100 ml is around 84€.

Which perfume does the man in your life loving for winter?
