Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum, Shape + Sculpt Face & Eye Kits, Review, Swatch & FOTD

I hope you had a great weekend. I always have the feeling that it is way too short although this time it was one hour more than usual thanks to the switch to the winter time. Today was the big long cleaning day. Now that everything looks polished, it is time to go to work again boo. Tomorrow I am hoping to get an answer regarding the very odd examination I had last week. I hope things don't get even more complex than they are at the moment. I really have no energy to write complaint letters and sue if necessary. I would like to concentrate on my new task and deliver the best there instead of putting my energy in those things. Fingers (and toes) crossed it turns out to be good tomorrow.

A new fresh wind is blowing from Estée Lauder in case you haven't noticed. They keep coming up with innovating new products. This year has certainly been a great year for the brand who renewed the eye shadow formulas, lipsticks, launched new formulas and textures for those as well as new base products. The recent base perfecting line, New Dimension aims at sculpting and shaping the face. The intention is to look perfect at each angle. Today I would like to share my thoughts about Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum as well as Shape + Sculpt Face & Eye Kits. And as for the surprise, at the end of this post you will find a face shot of me from the reverse side which I never revealed before! Right after the jump...

Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum, Shape + Sculpt Face & Eye Kits

The product I was curious about most from New Dimension Line was the Estée Lauder Shape + Fill Expert Serum. This is truly a innovative new way to look at the serums. I love myself a light weight serum to hydrate and prepare my skin before I put on my foundation. Shape + Fill Expert Serum fits the bill since it nicely glides over the skin, absorbed fast and leaves the complexion soft and radiant but not sticky. I have read numerous reviews about this serum stating that "it works" to accentuate the contours of the face and to slim it down. I can testify that it does that to me as well.

Shape + Fill Expert Serum is a great base for my morning routine. It is supposed to be applied to the clean skin before the moisturizer. Since I am using foundations which are not drying (such as Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum, reviewed here, which I am obsessed about at the moment) or since I use a sun screen with moisturizer (such as Darphin one which I can only recommend if you have dry skin), I sometimes skip the moisturize all together. I find Shape + Fill Expert Serum to be a great base for whatever comes after that. The face appear fresh and smooth and definitely more defined. Thumbs up for the serum which I will definitely be buying after my bottle is empty.

There are also two color products to mimic the shadows and highlights on the face and further define the contours and high points, one for the face and one for the eyes.

Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Face Kit consist of two cream products, one to highlight and one to contour. It comes in only one color theme so it is already expected that it is not suitable for very light and very deep complexions. I believe this kit would be best for medium skin tones, around NC30 since the highlighter shade matches to my NC20 complexion so I ended up using it as a concealer/foundation. The deeper shade is to contour and it can be build up or can be blended nicely. The advantage of a cream contour is that it looks a little dewy hence more natural. The swatches below are blended. You can go much deeper with both of the shades. I find the deep shade a bit too warm for my contouring taste since I gravitate towards ashier shades. I can see myself using it as a cream bronzer to bring some healthy glow to the face. I wished that the light shade would be lighter to match my complexion.

Swatch: Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Face Kit

I have read very mixed reviews about Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit so wasn't expecting to love it but I was very very positively surprised after trying it out. I figured out that the descriptions might have confused some of the reviewers but I will come to that. Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit is the ultimate weapon if you are fan of a no make-up makeup look. This one smooths and polishes the eye lids and leaves it looking natural and not done, like a better version of the ones you have.

Left most there is a cream eye base. Some suggested that it is too balmy and doesn't stay in place. I found it rather innovative since after you apply it on your eyes, all your "wrinkles" disappear! At least mine did. It made my eye lid look 10 years younger. This wouldn't be possible with a thin base.

In the middle there is a cream highlighter. It would be easier to set the base with a powder product but this pearly cream looks perfect. It highlights without emphasizing the lines. I love padding it on the third shade right onto the middle of the lid.

Rightmost is a powder definition shade with matte finish. I love the tone of this since it is not too warm. I wished the face kit deeper shade would also be like this one. I like dusting it on the lid and adding highlight over it with the cream highlighter. The results are impressive. Have you figured yet that I belong to the camp who loved the eye kit?

Swatch: Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit

Estée Lauder New Dimension promises that you look good at each angle, so let's see how I look shall we?  Let's start with a straight shot. You can see how slim the face looks. I swear I am not that slim *chuckles*. That is because of the cream contour and the serum. Oh and check out the eye lids, don't they look perfectly polished? I used only the Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit and a touch of natural mascara and no liner.

FOTD: Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum, Shape + Sculpt Face & Eye Kits

Here is a better look to the face contour and the eyes. Since my eye lids are naturally deeper than my face, I prefer applying the deeper shade all over the lid and highlight in the middle and inner corners. I am wearing Tom Ford Matte Lip Color First Time on the lips reviewed here).

So you know this angle of me... what about...

FOTD: Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum, Shape + Sculpt Face & Eye Kits

... this one *shuts eyes not to see the reaction*. It is so funny because it is so different. I used to pose that way half of my life, thinking my nose appeared slimmer *lol*. Then I somehow concluded that the other one is somehow better. I don't know, anyways thanks to New Dimension now you have me almost 360 degrees ;-))

Other side of the moon *cough cough*, FOTD Estée Lauder New Dimension

Check out the reviews of the lovely ladies Sunny and Linda which made me curious to try the products on the first place.

Final thoughts: Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum ticks all kinds of boxes for me. It is a lovely serum to smooth and prepare the skin for the foundation in the morning while defining its structure, love it! Shape + Sculpt Face Kit has a cream contour which blends nicely and appears natural but the shades are a bit too warm and dark for my complexion. I love the eye kit for a no make-up look. The base is a little sticky but fills the lines and makes the eye lid appear younger. All in all thumbs up for the innovative new products to Estée Lauder line.

Have you tried or checked out any of these? What are your thoughts? Do you prefer cream or powder contour?

  1. Oh hello, the other side of Sara :-)
I couldn't tell if the serum was working for me or not, so I decided not to blog about it. You should show us your other side more often, Sara. You look gorgeous - all 360 degrees!

  3. I got a three day sample of this from my local EL counter. Haven't tried it out yet. You look gorgeous from any angle. Keeping my fingers crossed for you today.

  4. The serum sounds good - mom's a fan - and the eyeshadows look nice, but I didn't get a long with that contour trio. I just couldn't make it work.

  5. Good luck today! I like the simplified makeup look on you for sure though this particular product may not work on my pale skin. It's good as a palette cleanser so we don't feel we have to wear makeup every single day. Also great to see the 360 degrees of you-- gorg from every angle.

  6. So I agree with everyone else, your other side is beautiful! You should deff photograph it more often but I do know what you mean because I usually take photos at a certain angle too and I think that any other makes my nose look ridiculous, lol!

  7. Thanks Agata,

I can't imagine your nose looking strange, really. Those type of stuff is more what we make-up ourselves than what the other think probably. I was so clueless how to edit my other side, it was funny lol.

  8. Thanks so much Alison.
Luck wishes worked and I got the certificate, so now I can work on the real thing other than spending all my energy to something stupid. I think the Face Kit is too dark for fair skin, you may like the Eye Kit though.

  10. Hi Tatiana,.
let us know how you like it. I was able to see the difference by the second or third use so your sample is good to check it out yourself. I also received a mail from my counter to go and pick up a sample. I think I will do that, for the sake of travels, it is nice to have a small size. See, I am addicted ;-))

  12. Hi Lily,
lol yes it is funny right, I may need to do a video at some point, there one appears more "real". I show one side for the efficiency reasons too. I can edit my left side very fast but with the right side I was like "now what"? hahaha it was fun.
I am sure it worked on you too but since you are working out and loosing weight, it is hard to pinpoint what made your face slimmer.

  16. Thanks for the link love, Sara! ;* I love both sides of your profiles!! I'm the same way though I strongly prefer 1 side to the other but sometimes the other side surprises me ;) I've got lots to catch up here!!
