MAC Casual Color in Red Obsessed from Red Red Red Collection, Review, Swatch, FOTD and Promo Photos

I hope you are all having a great weekend. I have lots to do even on the weekends once the end of the year is getting closer, so I am a little bit stressed even on Sundays, what a bummer. Nevertheless I didn't want to hold back from one product I would like to show you today. It is MAC Casual Color in Red Obsessed from upcoming Red Red Red Collection, which will be released at the end of December in USA and in February elsewhere. I love the idea of having a collection named after a color and I am wishing for a purple collection right after that one! Good news is that there are many shades of red in Red Red Red Collection, so even if you are not a fan of red, you will find something in there.

MAC Casual Colors are thought to be dabbed on the cheeks and lips for an easy lit within look. Red Obsessed is a natural pink which is easy to wear for warm as well as cool complexions. It goes sheer with the first swipe but can be build up to a semi transparent finish. For deeper skin tones, it might just give the glow but the color might be too soft to show up. On me it is just right, hard to overdo but gives a perfect dose of color and sheen.

Swatched heavy and blended: MAC Casual Color Red Obsessed

It was rather dark yesterday when I wanted to take some photos but I managed to get only one before the sun disappeared. I don't know how it is at where you are living but here it starts getting dark already at 4:30 pm. Since I usually sleep long on the weekends, I am practically left with almost no daylight time. You can see that casual color gives a sheen which brings out the cheek bones. I am not wearing any highlight at the photo below. I also have Casual Color in Red Obsessed on my lips. I dab that with my finger onto the lips, I find it very hydrating. The end result is a great everyday nude.I love how it applies and feels.

FOTD: MAC Casual Color Red Obsessed on lips and cheeks

I usually don't post promos but upon a little research I didn't find the promo photos online, so I thought you would like to see the whole collection at once. The collection is composed of four lipsticks, four lip glosses, three eye shadows, three casual colors and three nail polishes as well as one beauty powder. Some of these are repromotes or additions to the permanent line.

  3. Interesting collection from Mac. I like their lustre formula generally so the lipsticks may be a temptation for me. Susan, London

    1. Hi Susan, two of the lipsticks are permanent, one is a repromote, it seems many were looking forward to it, I will make sure to try it too.

  4. A very pretty colour on you! I like the concept of the collection, and the promo pic with the model looks great. I get the feeling it might be aimed at Chinese new year?
