I live through the comments and super excited when I see new readers leaving one.

Reds certainly work great with light complexions. Your tips about keeping everything very minimal are very helpful. I am not good at minimal eye makeup, maybe you have recognized ;-) This is something I have to learn.

I am so glad that my swatches were helpful to you. I hope there are other swatches which you also enjoy or some reviews you like.
Love your nick, haha red lipstick maniac, hilarious!
Hope to read you again :-**Sara@ColorMeLoudhttp://www.colormeloud.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003642103556651266.post-54857660146933809692015-06-27T21:34:59.949+02:002015-06-27T21:34:59.949+02:00Hi Jenni,

I like the sound of the formula and it's something I'd be really interested in trying as they seem pretty pigmented even if longevity is s bit of an issue. I much prefer a creamy or more hydrating lip product than a matte even if I have to touch up more often.
thebeautybloss.combeauty blosshttp://www.thebeautybloss.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003642103556651266.post-22962653326924177152015-06-23T10:47:52.944+02:002015-06-23T10:47:52.944+02:00I am not sure someone can tell you anything new ab...I am not sure someone can tell you anything new about makeup, Sara :) If I would have your complexion, I would try a warmer, deeper, and more pigmented shade (perhaps a muted red for the day) and skip all the eyeshadow contouring and lining, only mascara and beige eyeshadow (no "eye shaping") only a touch of bright blush. This worked for me. Also I figured that I like red lipsticks only if they are matte. Chanel and By Terry are my favorite red matte lipsticks, also want one from TF and D&G. There are so many red matte options now :) I would maybe start trying the color with cheap L'Oreal matte (their celebrity collection) or Mac matte lipsticks. They are not as good in quality but for trying out the color "in field" why not.
As for Laura Mercier... I am sure this is a great lipstick, but after reaching about 200+ lipsticks and glosses I decided to only buy lip products with spf (as most of mines are without) and in reasonable quantities because spf filters expire after a year of opening. These ones do not offer a sun protection (checked the ingredients). So I may buy some Rodial sheer spf lipsticks this summer and repurchase spf lipsticks from By Terry and Fresh next year. I don't like applying an spf balm underneath because the already sheer and balmy lipstick appears then even sheerer and balmier and is also too much work to reapply.Janenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003642103556651266.post-47317829101288146492015-06-23T01:55:58.226+02:002015-06-23T01:55:58.226+02:00I'll quit lurking and comment to say that I th...I'll quit lurking and comment to say that I think you look great in red! BUT then I looooove reds and have many thoughts about them. :)

I think reds work well on porcelain pale faces like mine and also very drop skin tones, and everything in between --but I do think for best results, the skin hue should be balanced and neutral. Blush should be minimal, bronzer should be avoided (or at the very least applied very evenly, allover), and contouring is generally more of a distraction than help. Put it this way: if there are many interesting zones of various colors happening on your face already, bright red is just going to compete, and both the red and the face will suffer.

Maybe try what I taught a few friends of mine: do your eyes, put on foundation/concealer, but do NOT use blush, bronzer, or highlighter (etc) on until after the red lipstick. The red will guide your hand, and you'll know when you've hit the sweet spot! :)

Incidentally, I found your blog originally looking for swatches of Guerlain KissKiss in "Love Kiss" (yes, the less popular red in the collection). I bought it and ADORE it, so many thanks!

-- Tessa aka red lipstick maniacmurpmurpmurpnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003642103556651266.post-11015170603653997832015-06-22T17:26:30.985+02:002015-06-22T17:26:30.985+02:00I've ordered vivid pink and deep rose 😄. It is great that the season is over, hope it won't start soon ;-) Thanks, I know what you mean, I have to get used to brighter bolder lips but since usually I pack lots of eye make-up, I don't have many opportunities to try it out. Ok, but that's what everybody tells me when I talk about deep berry shades... I think the trick for making it work for camera versus real life is we are so used to seeing heavily made-up looks in print, but not walking down the street. So for daily wear, I dab my reds and berry shades instead of swiping them full on... that way I get a sheer stain, and maybe pop some gloss over? Or go where the Koreans are now... keep everything simple - luminous dewy skin, no eye makeup except black liner, and a full-on pout (or make it ombre if you feel like it).silverkishttp://silverkis.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003642103556651266.post-89449107157649879622015-06-21T20:30:12.721+02:002015-06-21T20:30:12.721+02:00As usual I love both on you and from the sound of ...As usual I love both on you and from the sound of it the formula is rrrrright up my alley! And doesn't look that blue toned either (I also have problems with blue toned reds, but with the more warm ones I'm afraid they make my teeth look yellow).
